This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn a singleconfiguration heavyliftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to lowEarth orbit geostationary transfer orbit cislunarand beyond.Specifically this role would be supporting the development and introduction of a new upper stage for the New Glenn vehicle.
As part of a small hardworking passionate diverse and accomplished team of experts you will be responsible for the structural analysis of the fluid systems and components for this stage. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conducting structural and dynamic analysis of valves tubing mounts COPVs etc.
Providing technical guidance oversight and analysis review/approval for designers and other analysts completing structural analysis
Identification of opportunities for safety improvements cost savings and weight savings
Supporting configuration development and trade studies
Review supplier analyses of COTS valves supporting qualification efforts
Maintain and report on work tasks schedule and technical status
Minimum Qualifications
Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
10 years of experience in the structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components and systems including valves tubing/piping pressure vessels
Experience with FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred) including structural dynamic and thermal analyses
Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping module preferred)
Experience with cryogenic temperature systems
Experience overseeing reviewing or approving other analysts work
Expertise with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics (hand calcs NASGRO VCCT etc)
Knowledge of manufacturing methods material selection testing characterization & allowables development
Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the analysis of components involving welding or casting
Experience with statistical analysis for preparation of design allowables
Experience with one or more of the following analysis codes: Nastran Ansys (structural dynamic thermal CFD) Abaqus LSDyna Optistruct
Compensation Range for:
CO applicants is $129611.00$181454.70;WA applicants is $140959.00$197342.25Other site ranges may differ
