How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW
Job Description Summary: The Senior Accounting Analyst will support the business objectives based on the Controller organizations scope of responsibility. The major areas of responsibility will include: financial accounting and reporting including monthend close processes; general ledger account analyses reconciliation review; preparation and posting of journal entries; research analyses and reporting; internal reporting requests related to Division Regional branches and Corporate; fulfilling requests related to internal/external audit and other ad hoc analyses and special projects.
This role will also liaison with the ALABS shared services including; accounts payable cash applications central billing vendor chargebacks general ledger accounting and fixed asset functions as defined in the Airgas ALABS RACI matrix.
Monthend procedures including the preparation and posting of journal entries including:
Perform tasks ensuring accurate financial and statistical close processes in conjunction with ALABS including general ledger account reconciliations and other analyses within established timelines.
Significant sales accruals that are not based on a standard report/calculation.
Significant COS & OPEX accruals that are not based on a standard report/calculation.
Localized accounting topics including but not limited to real estate taxes and personal property taxes.
Adhoc entries arising from the month end close review process
Perform the product costing process including:
Calculate maintain and update standard gas and hardgoods costs as required.
Preparation of daily Moving Average Price (MAP) analysis.
Cost of sales account analysis research and preparation of account reconciliations.
Preparation of reports and other information related to internal requests from the Division/branches as well as Corporate.
Participates in ongoing enhancements to accounting and reporting processes by leveraging systems and reporting tools to drive those enhancements.
Supports and provides direction as well as training to the teams accounting staff.
Strong client service mindset and work well with internal customers as well as external parties.
Ensures compliance with the Companys financial policies/procedures and other matters related to compliance.
This position must be able to build effective relationships with all levels of associates within the organization.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.
Minimum of three years financial reporting / financial accounting experience public accounting experience and exposure to mediumtolarge companies a plus.
Intermediate computer skills (MS Word Excel Access)
Preferred Qualifications
CPA and/or MBA in Finance/Accounting a plus
4 to 6 years financial reporting / financial accounting experience public accounting experience and exposure to mediumtolarge companies a plus.
Advanced experience with SAP software is a plus.
