- Education: Bachelors Degree Required
- Specialized Knowledge Licenses etc: Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Elementary Education or applicable teaching fields
- Other: Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others demonstrate selfdiscipline and initiative and follow state and district guidelines

Position Summary: Creating a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishing effective rapport with pupils; motivating pupils to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education by each pupil skill level; and establishing good relationships with parents and other staff members.
Responsibilities
- Teaches art to pupils in a classroom using the course of study adopted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and SSPS Board of Education Policies.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil and achieve the identified objectives.
- Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
- Utilizes grading patterns that are fairly administered and based on identified criteria.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Will treat pupils with respect and dignity.
- Evaluate academic and social growth keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate with parents in various ways to discuss pupils progress and interpret the school program. Interacts with pupils staff and parents in a positive and professional manner.
- Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health attitude and learning problems.
- Establish rapport with pupils and provide a pleasant safe and orderly climate conducive to learning.
- Actively participates in fully implementing the SPS digital learning model for student learning.
- Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the district and selfselected professional growth activities.
- Supervises pupils in outofclassroom activities during the assigned working day.
Teaches art to pupils in a classroom using the course of study adopted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Sand Springs Public Schools Board of Education and any other appropriate learning activities as supported by the district/site administration.
Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and school district administrative regulations and procedures.
Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter instructional skills and resource materials for the course(s) taught.
Creates lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
Maintains a safe organized classroom that supports studstudentsependent learning collaboration and choice.
Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
Provides a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction
Provide consistent immediate feedback to student learning and ask analytical questions that elicit studstudentsponses that incorporate prior knowledge life experience and interests directly related to the content objective.
Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the schoolwide behavior expectation in which most students are engaged incorporates mutual respect and provides collaborative learning opportunities.
Uses available technology/instructional media to enhance studstudentsrning experiences.
Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students parents staff and community members by communicating tactfully courteously and confidentially.
Appropriately communicates and interacts with other professional staff in academic planning and school committee work.
Attend and participate in staff meetings extracurricular/schoolrelated activities and committees.
Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth and works with the administrator to formulate and complete professional development plans.
Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates conscientious and responsible behavior.
Engages parents and guardians in the education of their children.

Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned by the site administrator.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge and application of Sand Springs Public Schools District and departmental policies and procedures
Knowledge and application of appropriate teaching strategies and methods
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with coworkers vendors students parents the general public and others having business with the school district
Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications and equipment
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification.
Must pass an initial fingerprint and background clearance check and maintain a valid fingerprint clearance card in the classroom.
May be required to lift and carry heavy bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
May be required to work outside regular working hours.
May be required to travel to perform work functions.
