Job Description
A day in the life of an Ascent General Manager...
As the General Manager for our Rotary Wing (RW) services you will be fully accountable to the Operations Director for the management of a business with annual revenues exceeding 50m 500m of operational assets under management and over 100 direct and indirect employees.
You will:
- Provide exceptional levels of leadership ensuring alignment with the wider business strategy developing high performing and cognitively diverse teams and staff development.
- Drive high levels of operational performance maximise variable performancebased revenues through effective operations management driving efficiencies and productivity.
- Maximise financial performance take full P&L responsibility ensure effective cost control risk management and grow revenues through effective change management and adjacent markets.
- Manage and collaborate with key stakeholders work collaboratively with key customer strategic suppliers and enduser representatives to drive winwin outcomes.
What will make you successful
You will already have experience in senior leadership roles with full P&L accountability and will have a track record of delivering complex operations or services in a highly regulated commercial environment (Aviation beneficial but not essential).
You will also:
- Have high levels of business acumen and focus (strategy operations management finance commercial and contracts supply chains and risk management).
- Have a proven capacity for leading businesses and teams to achieve consistent high levels of performance and engagement aligned with core business strategy.
- Have proven trackrecord of stakeholder management and effective collaboration to create winwin outcomes at senior levels with strategic customers and suppliers.
- Take accountability and build effective productive and happy teams.
- Have strong customer services skills a passion for exceeding their expectations and working in a true partnership.
- Be comfortable working in a balanced matrix organisational structure.
The Company
Ascent Flight Training was appointed in 2008 to design and deliver a modern and efficient flying training system by the UK MOD.
Created as a joint venture between Lockheed Martin UK AND Babcock International; and is responsible within the UK Military Flight Training System (UKMFTS) for the training design and training delivery that creates the next generation of aircrew.
