Job Description

Play a key role in advancing best practices and continuous improvement across the University providing advice and guidance to solve practical OHS issues.

Full time/Part time options considered continuing appointment
HEW 6 $88421 p.a. (prorata) plus up to 17 superannuation

About the role

You will provide advice and guidance to solve practical OHS matters including the interpretation of relevant legislation regulations or policy to assist in resolving compliance issues. Travel between campuses will be required and occasionally work outside standard hours.

You will:

  • contribute to the implantation of the Universitys OHS Management System providing support guidance and advice to supervisors and managers;

  • conduct internal inspections and audits providing reports and recommendations;

  • coordinate regular risk assessments; and

  • coordinate monitor and evaluate OHS related projects.

About you

Reporting to the Head Health Safety and Wellbeing you will possess specialist knowledge of OHS legislation practices and principles and the ability to apply OHS knowledge and policy in diverse operational settings.

You will possess demonstrated:

  • experience in identifying and recommending practical and effective solutions to OHS issues;

  • ability to work independently and as part of a team achieve outcomes within required timeframes; and

  • interpersonal and communication skills interacting effectively with a wide range of individuals.
