What Youll Do:


As we continue to expand our operations and reach we are seeking a highly skilled and detailoriented Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing multiple aspects of payroll processing ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees on a biweekly and monthly basis. In addition this position will be tasked with registering the company in new states and maintaining comprehensive payroll records in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately calculate and process biweekly and monthly payroll for all employees using the Rippling Payroll system to include commissions bonuses and SPIFF programs.
  • Review timesheets attendance records and other relevant data to ensure accurate payment calculations.
  • Address any discrepancies or issues related to payroll and resolve them promptly.
  • Serve as the nexus of collaboration between legal finance and HR teams to determine the requirements and procedures for registering the company in new states for payroll purposes
  • Prepare and submit all necessary documentation to complete state registration processes efficiently and in compliance with local regulations.
  • Stay up to date with federal state and local payroll regulations tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard payroll data and mitigate risks of errors or noncompliance.
  • Maintain accurate and organized payroll records including employee information timesheets tax withholdings and benefit deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments management and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a professional and timely manner.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review Quarterly payroll tax fillings for federal and states work with representatives to resolve issues or notices.
  • Work closely with Payroll Accountant for payroll journaling reconciliations flux analysis and accruals on a biweekly monthly quarterly and annual schedule.
  • Process wage garnishments child support and subpoenas as required by law.
  • Manage the integration between the payroll system and other financial systems.
  • Support SOX and statutory audits related to payroll.
  • Prepare and manage payroll PBC list for internal and external audits.
  • Document and maintain payroll process training manuals.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships with existing and future software systems.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field.
  • Five to 7 years of endtoend payroll processing using webbased payroll systems.
  • Indepth knowledge of federal state and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional problemsolving and analytical abilities to address payrollrelated challenges effectively.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software spreadsheets and other relevant financial tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and external parties in a professional manner.
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.
  • International payroll experience is a plus.
  • Payroll/HRIS software implementation experience preferred.
  • Payroll certification (CPP) preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $65000 $80000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
