RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential:
- Provide mental health services for HutchCC students including but not limited to crisis intervention and personal counseling. Complete diagnostic and ongoing assessments to guide appropriate treatment. Assist in the development of life skills necessary for personal wellness and academic retention and completion.
- Assist with activities and services offered through the Blue Dragon Food Pantry. This may include assisting with daily pantry duties and distribution of food.
- Teach select classes as assigned by the Coordinator of Counseling and Social Work Services and/or Director of Advising. Utilize face to face and online delivery methods. Classes may include ED105 Success Seminar/College Orientation ED115 College Orientation and Career Exploration SO103 Stress Management and/or SO104 Assertiveness Training. Attend the New Faculty Teaching Academy.
- Provide academic career and advising services to students who have not declared a college major and to students who according to institutional definition are consider at risk. Collaborate with the HutchCC Retention Coordinator to coordinate and implement retention procedures and services.
- Collaborate with the Student Services team to assist students in obtaining resources needed for academic social and personal success.
- Assist with campus outreach fairs screening events and celebrations.
- Implement retention procedures including a variety of intervention services.
- Actively participate in campus and community activities and/or organizations.
- Utilize multiple delivery systems for advising including facetoface telephone and online communication with students.
- Maintain resource materials relating to advising.
- Arrive on time for work attend work regularly and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
- Comply with HutchCC policies procedures and practices.
Secondary:
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Coordinator of Counseling and Social Work Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:- Education: Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy Psychology Social Work Professional Counseling or related area.
- Licensure: Kansas licensure to diagnose and treat mental disorders. Counselor is required to secure and pay for external supervision if clinical licensure has not been obtained.
- Experience: Teaching and/or counseling experience preferred.
- The ability to build solid student relationships.
- The ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the college environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work with staff administration and others in a professional manner.
- Physical activities will include visual acuity to view a computer terminal; use appropriate judgment and apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; sedentary indoor work environment.

SALARY and STATUS:The salary for this position is determined as per the Hiring Salary Schedule in theMaster Agreement. This fulltime faculty position is 10 months annual 190 days per year) tenure track benefit eligible and exempt.
