The Technical Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the Louisville plant maintenance engineering and reliability strategies to maximize equipment uptime operational efficiency and safety. This role oversees TPM preventive and predictive maintenance programs CMMS implementation process innovation and capital projects to support plant growth and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy to reduce downtime and enhance reliability
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs including vibration analysis thermography and condition monitoring
- Manage and optimize CMMS to track work orders asset performance and maintenance costs
- Monitor and analyze KPIs (MTTR MTBF OEE) for continuous improvement and datadriven decisionmaking
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for equipment issues
Process Optimization & Engineering Support
- Identify and implement automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and equipment performance
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives such as 6S Kaizen and Six Sigma
- Lead capital projects from justification to ensuring alignment with plant goals and budgets
- Collaborate with Corporate Engineering R&D and Process Engineering on innovation and product development
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise mentor and develop a maintenance and technical team of 610 staff members
- Lead safety initiatives and ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA EPA and NFPA standards
- Train and mentor staff in predictive maintenance technologies and TPM best practices
- Support hiring training performance evaluations and teambuilding initiatives
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Oversee spare parts inventory (MRO) ensuring optimal stock levels and cost control
- Manage vendor relationships for maintenance services upgrades and emergency repairs
- Ensure compliance with external regulatory agencies including EPA Fire Department and XL Gaps
CrossFunctional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with production EH&S supply chain and quality teams to align maintenance with plant operations
- Partner with corporate/regional engineering teams to drive technological advancements and best practices
- Support testing and implementation of new materials and equipment with supply chain and R&D
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Chemical Engineering (required)
- 5 years of experience in maintenance technical or process engineering roles in manufacturing
- Strong background in electrical troubleshooting (AC/DC circuits PLCs schematics)
- Proven experience implementing and managing CMMS systems
- Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred) and TPM experience
- Demonstrated leadership and maintenance performance improvement track record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software tools
