About the Role

The OGC Analyst Lateral Onboarding is an integral part of Lathams Office of the General Counsel (OGC) team and will be responsible for developing a streamlined process for opening highpriority matters for lateral partners and counsel while partnering with the OGC Attorney Lateral Conflicts & Onboarding Counsel to improve the lateral onboarding experience. This role will be located in either our New York Boston or Washington D.C.office.Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and inoffice presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Processing and reviewing New Business Intake (NBI) forms for highpriority matters from lateral partners and counsel during their first month at the firm and completing all steps needed to open the new matter and secure a client/matter number
  • Acting as a liaison between lateral attorneys sponsoring attorneys and various teams including Partner Recruiting Conflicts NBI Business Development Pricing and Billing to open highpriority matters for lateral attorneys
  • Communicating with lateral attorneys to ensure their request to open highpriority matters is met in a timely manner while setting reasonable expectations about the onboarding process and readily raising potential issues with various internal teams to problemsolve for rapidly shifting priorities
  • Updating and inputting data into the conflicts and financial databases and using internal and external information resources to confirm the accuracy of the information
  • Assisting with the preparation and distribution of various reports for new client and matter data
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive confidential privileged financial and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Possess welldeveloped professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a customerservice focus to deliver customer service proactively and efficiently and to be resourceful
  • Exhibit strong communication skills with high levels of professionalism

And have:

  • A bachelors degree or equivalent; a minimum of four 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • A minimum of three 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or other professional services firm
  • Experience with Intapp software products and/or 3E software
