Introduction
The Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the State of Maryland. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has the general charge supervision and direction of the States legal business acting as legal advisors and representatives of the major agencies various boards commissions officials and institutions of State Government. The OAG also protects the public by civil enforcement of antitrust civil rights consumer protection and securities laws and regulations and by the prosecution of organized crime Medicaid fraud environmental crimes insurance fraud state tax evasion and other statutorily assigned matters. As Marylands 47th Attorney General Anthony G. Brown leads the Office with a critical focus on equity justice and fairness.

This position offers a salary range of $53808 $78181 with potential for advancement up to $86322 based on qualifications equity and hiring guidelines. Initial salary offers are determined by qualifications experience and available budget and typically do not exceed $78181.

Main Purpose of Job
The OAG is seeking applicants for an Administrative Support Manager (Administrative Officer II) for the Office of Special Counsel (the Office). The Office represents the Baltimore City Office of Child Support Services in judicial matters to establish modify or enforce child support orders. This position is responsible for supervising four administrative employees and one investigator assigned to the Office. Supervisory duties may include assigning reviewing and approving employees work approving timesheets and leave requests conducting periodic performance evaluations and implementing improvement plans. Other responsibilities include: managing the offices budget requesting payments for vendors and ensuring that the office has sufficient supplies and resources to operate efficiently. The Administrative Support Manager should be comfortable drafting correspondence maintaining filing and organization systems filing and accessing electronically filed documents in the Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) system and assisting in all aspects of litigation preparation research and support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degreefrom a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that includedregular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans policies rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a yearforyear basis for the requiredexperience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should possess strong communications problemsolving and interpersonal skills; ability to delegate tasks appropriately and motivate team members; and ability to provide consistent work at a high volume with limited instruction and have strong organization and writing skills.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
At least five years of experience in administrative staff or professional work;
Experience performing legal research and preparing legal documents on behalf of an attorney;
Knowledge of civil litigation proceedings;
Experience leading supervising managing employees teams or projects;
Knowledge of the Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) system.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
