This is an exciting time to join Madison Colleges Early Learning Campus as we embark on a period of growth and expansion! The Child Care Food Service Technician position plays a vital role in ensuring high nutritional standards at our stateoftheart facility serving children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

In collaboration with the Childcare Food Specialist the Child Care Food Service Technician oversees all aspects of food service cleanup and site sanitation ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations. You will help prepare menuspecified recipes for breakfast lunch and snacks that meet the diverse nutritional needs of our young learners in a nurturing and inclusive environment. In the absence of the Childcare Food Specialist youll take the lead in food preparation service and cleanup ensuring seamless operations.

Additionally The Child Care Food Service Technician will contribute to maintaining a safe and hygienic space through light housekeeping duties such as laundry dishwashing and sanitizing childrens areas and toys all while supporting the Early Learning Campuss commitment to excellence and care.

This position reports to the Associate Manager of the Early Learning Campus where your contributions will directly impact our mission to provide exceptional early childhood education and care as part of our exciting expansion efforts.

This is a parttime 25 hours per week yearround 52 weeks) position. The schedule is Monday through Friday with flexibility to work within the centers operating hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm.

Essential Responsibilities:

• With Childcare Food Specialist prepares assigned meals in accordance with menu guidelines child nutritional and cultural needs and agespecific portion sizes. Prepare foods for special events for the center as assigned. Advocates for and supports family style dining in classrooms. Takes lead in food prep in the absence of Childcare Food Specialist
• Delivers food and needed service items to classrooms on schedule. Returns leftovers and dishes to kitchen. Cleans dishes and stores foods as required in applicable regulations.
• Maintains quantity and conditions of supplies and equipment. Reports faulty equipment to the Childcare Food Specialist and Assistant Manager
• Upholds the safety and physical wellbeing of all enrolled children by ensuring all food service areas are safe clean culturally appropriate. Meets and maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements including State Licensing Requirements City Accreditation Standards USDA Food
• Program Regulations Wisconsin Early Learning Standards and Madison College Policies
• With Childcare Food Specialist maintains prompt accurate records on menus production sheets inventory lists sanitation records as assigned. Checks food deliveries for accuracy safety and quality and immediately reports any concerns or discrepancies as assigned.
• Promotes family involvement and education by contributing to program newsletters as assigned and supporting training for studentstaff nutrition aides.
• As assigned supports the overall success and safety of the center through such light housekeeping duties as laundry and sanitizing classroom toys/materials.
• Participates in required staff meetings and maintains a minimum of 4hours eligible continuing education annually. Maintains the professional competence knowledge and skills necessary for
• the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Skill in communicating effectively and professionally both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
• Meets requirements of WI Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers (HFS 46 for physical exam TB skin test and criminal background check both upon hire and on ongoing basis. Achieve within 3 months and maintain current certification in first aid and CPR.
• Ability to follow recipes worksheets and verbal instructions to prepare food per regulations including scaling recipes and portioning servings for infantspreschoolers.
• Knowledge of quantity food preparation equipment and sanitation methods is desirable.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent working experience. *Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
• One 1 year work experience in quantity food service setting.
• First Aid/CPR certification required within three 3 months of hire.
