Procurement Manager
Position Summary:
Our Manassas Virginia site is a part of the Consumer Health division and provides expanded capabilities in soft chews and lozenges. With extensive development and manufacturing expertise and a wide range of flavors ingredients and colors available we can work with complex formulations to help create engaging new products consumers will love.
Reporting to the Global Director Procurement the Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing and procurement activities including the development of category strategies for assigned categories lead sourcing teams and initiate and foster relationships with stakeholders establishing and prioritizing activities for their team to achieve objectives and results. Additionally the Procurement Manager will support the implementation of new suppliers for their given categories. Work closely with other team members key support departments and critical stakeholders across the company. This position is based onsite in Manassas VA.
The Role:
Plan organize direct and evaluate the purchasing activities of the organization and execute plans to achieve goals of the function including metrics control and report.
Source negotiate contract & execute agreements including service level agreements to fulfil daytoday business needs.
Prepare and administer bids requests for quotes requests for proposals requests for information and other vendor documentation.
Must be able to work extended hours weekends as needed especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
Perform other duties as required.
The Candidate:
Bachelors degree in Business Finance Operations Supply Chain Life Sciences Engineering or comparable disciplines is . Masters degree preferred.Industry certifications a plus.
5 years of progressive international experience and career advancement in procurement or comparable function.
Experience in the nutritional and/or dietary supplement industry is strongly preferred.
Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or GMP facility is an asset.
Possesses a strong working knowledge and experience in key procurement areas including Direct and indirect materials and services Capex category dynamics and Commodities.
Experience with Cost Modelling/TCO and Contracts negotiations
Ability to development and implement sourcing strategies.
Effectively assesses risk and implements mitigation plans to either prevent or minimize impact to ensure business continuity.
Expertise in successfully executing Supplier Management programs.
Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalentsponsored leadership programs such as NGGL GOLD LEAD Now GM Excellence and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.Use of manual dexterity is required.
The employee is occasionally required to stand walk reach with arms and hands bend or twist and to stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
