Are you passionate about making a difference in your community through nutrition education and physical activity promotion The University of Nevada Reno Extension is looking for a dedicated CommunityBased Instructor 3 to join our team in Washoe County. *This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This parttime 80 FTE) role based in Reno NV offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with communitybased organizations and individuals to improve public health and wellness.

Responsibilities Include:
Deliver engaging nutrition education and physical activity programs at communitybased sites.
Maintain integrity and fidelity of SNAPEd curriculum implementation.
Participate in professional development training and collaborate with the statelevel SNAPEd administrative team.
Serve as a key resource in public health outreach efforts ensuring community members receive impactful and researchbased guidance.
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER
ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30 2025. Please refer to the link for more information: Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advancedlevel work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Required Qualifications
This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and three 3 years of relevant work experience in areas such as agriculture horticulture community development health and nutrition human and family development and natural resources in urban and rural areas; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
This position requires candidates to complete a fingerprinting/background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:
Background in teaching public health nutrition or physical activity is highly desirable.
Passion for community outreach and public health education.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
Schedule
The position requires 32 hours of work per week with a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
Compensation Grade
Grade 27
In classified service salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment the candidates qualifications internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
