Description of Work
This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Note: Permanent and timelimited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or timelimited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located in Raleigh Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $28.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Insurance. This position is located at 3200 Beechleaf Ct. Raleigh NC 27604.This position will use the NCFS accounting system to perform accounts receivable duties processing deposits. Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

- Working knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices with an ability to assist in
interpreting and analyzing accounting data. - Working knowledge of and ability to explain and apply the provisions of the standardized accounting
practices adopted by State Government. - Working knowledge of the NC Financial System (NCFS) NC HRPayroll System (BEACON) or
another payroll system. - Ability to apply analysis to the departmental or institutional needs and determine compliance with
pertinent guidelines rules regulations and laws. - Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form and demonstrated experience with
Microsoft Excel.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in accounting business administration or other curriculum that would provide a core curriculum in financial management coursework from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of accounting or auditing experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience as an accounting technician three of which must be at an advanced technical level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
