We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risksmart Claims Team at Marsh Australia. This role will be based in Sydney office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

You will be responsible for providing third party administration services under a delegated authority and for selfinsured clients on under deductible claims. Your portfolio will be mostly comprised of Public Liability and Casualty claims. The role includes ensuring the delivery of superior claims services evaluating claims to assess liability and/or policy coverage and negotiating favourable claim outcomes on behalf of insurer and corporate clients.

We will count on you to:

Collaborate and Partner for Client Value

Proactive management of under deductible liability claims for global and corporate clients;

Devise and implement effective strategies for claims resolutions;

Negotiate best possible claims outcomes on behalf of clients with third parties;

Establish and maintain strong and effective lines of communication with clients;

Actively engage in numerous team projects targeted at constantly improving processes/efficiencies and developing internal relationships;

Providing information and feedback on claims activity and developing trends to enable appropriate risk controls;

Developing existing client relationships demonstrated by a high level of performance and enthusiastically exploring new business opportunities

Inspire with Operational Excellence

Ensure claims are managed within delegated authorities and refer/escalate where appropriate;

Actively explore process and procedures improvements;

Complaints resolved within agreed service standards;

Setting reserves and authorising payment within scope of authority settling claims in the most costeffective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements;

Resolve escalated claims/issues in a timely fashion;

Exceeding client mandates as per Service Level Agreements

What you need to have:

  • Ideally 12 years of experience in liability claims particularly in public liability.
  • Knowledge of the Civil Liability Act and common law principles is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a multiskilled team.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problemsolving skills with a creative approach to challenges.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite and a demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Knowledge of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth) and the General Insurance Code of Practice
