Job Description
The Logistics Exercise Planning Services assists the United States Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the logistics directorate task area. The positions primary mission involves assisting in the planning and coordination of deployment sustainment and redeployment support for Marine Corps forces assigned or attached to CENTCOM working with units and support agencies worldwide to ensure equipment accountability responsive supply support distribution efforts and monitor both ground and aviation equipment readiness. The Logistics Exercise Planning Services directly supports services for MARCENT G4 such as integrating input from support activities to develop a comprehensive exercise logistics plan to ensure the efficient of MARCENT OAMS tasks both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The Logistics Exercise Planning Services will perform the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide Logistics Exercise Planning services.
- Provide Geographic Combatant Command (GCC) level and component level exercise planning at the expert proficiency level.
- Integrate input from multiple logistics support activities and develop a comprehensive exercise logistics plan to include guidance for deployment and redeployment of exercise participants.
- Review proposed exercise logistics plans provide logistical supportability recommendations draft exercise planning document inputs generate and / or modify exercise documents to develop and improve logistics programs and ensure exercise plans meet mission requirements.
- Coordinate with personnel from HQMC CENTCOM and other military staffs as required.
- Review and provide input to MARCENT and CENTCOM exercise documents and draft exercise logistics Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) inject items.
- Assist the MARCENT Staff and subordinate elements in achieving training objectives.
- Assist the MARCENT G4 staff in the development of training and exercise related Standard Operating Procedures Checklists Policies Orders and Directives via participation in planning teams working groups and conferences as required to incorporate lessons learned and afteraction items from previous similar events are identified and addressed.
EDUCATION
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum ten years of military experience.
- Experience in planning and coordinating logistics for military exercises at both Geographic Combatant Command (GCC) and component levels.
- Experience in reviewing and providing recommendations for exercise logistics plans drafting planning documents and generating or modifying exercise documents to enhance logistics programs.
- Experience assisting in the development of training and exerciserelated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Checklists Policies Orders and Directives and in participating in planning teams working groups and conferences.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- High proficiency in GCC and componentlevel exercise planning with a strong ability to develop and integrate comprehensive logistics plans for exercises.
- Skilled in coordinating logistics support across multiple activities and developing plans for deployment and redeployment of exercise participants.
- Experience supporting training objectives including the development of trainingrelated SOPs policies and procedures and addressing lessons learned and afteraction items from previous events.
- Capability to review and provide input to exercise documents including drafting Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) inject items to enhance exercise realism and effectiveness.
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word Power Point Excel etc. desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
- Travel is required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid drivers license current automobile insurance and a driving record that is acceptable to the companys auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
- A TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.
