About the Program
The Buddy Program by The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) connects volunteers with Ukrainian newcomers to foster meaningful friendships and provide a welcoming environment as they adapt to life in North America. Whether youre in a bustling city or connecting remotely your role as a buddy can create lasting bonds and make a difference.
What Youll Do as a Buddy
- Be a Friend: Forge a connection with a Ukrainian participant sharing stories interests and experiences.
- Offer Guidance: Provide practical tips about local resources services and daytoday life in your city.
- Explore Together or Virtually: Join your buddy in discovering the city practicing conversational skills or simply enjoying a chat over coffee (inperson or online).
- Create a Welcoming Space: Share your culture and learn about theirs while offering emotional support.
