The Medical Services Manager:
- Serve as a member of the EPIC leadership team to assist in the guidance of EPICs Strategic Plan and work in collaboration with executive peers to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of Empath.
- Work with Empath Health credentialing department to ensure that EPIC Medical Care staff and insurance contracts are current and licensed appropriately.
- Provide Primary Care Infectious Disease Care and Sexual Health Services to members of the community.
- Attend Ryan White Committee Meetings as needed.
- Act as the liaison between other area HIV care clinics and EPIC Medical Care services to ensure that patient needs are met.
- Drive business development initiatives to expand and enhance clinic operations identifying new opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Assure accuracy and timeliness of medical staff documentation including billing codes and clinical notes.
- Provide leadership for ongoing education regarding HIV/STI and 340B resources for staff.
- Ensure proper team support and APRN participation in IDT meetings with EPIC.
- Responsible for yearly formal performance evaluations as well as ongoing performance improvement and monitoring of direct staff members.
- Assist in the development of written guidelines for utilization management and best practices.
- Assist in the development of the best practices for EPIC Medical Care.
- Develop and review policies and procedures related to medical staff job descriptions and responsibilities.
- Actively participate in formal quality improvement functions and committees.
- Participate as an active member of the budget planning process. Actively participate in responding to audits.
- Work with Grant Writer on review of new grants and renewal grants for programs that fall under their direct supervision.
