Job Description

Coventry Village School seeks a knowledgeable collaborative individual to join our team as a Reading Interventionist 1 FTE). The Reading Interventionist will play a critical role in supporting students with a variety of literacy needs by implementing evidencebased intervention strategies. This position is an integral part of the MultiTiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and focuses on assessing planning and delivering targeted instruction to improve literacy skills. The Reading Interventionist will collaborate with classroom teachers special education staff and parents to ensure student success. Knowledge of the science of learning and experience with foundational and fundamental literacy approaches preferred. Key Responsibilities:Instruction & Intervention:Provide targeted evidencebased reading interventions for students across multiple layers of the MTSS framework.Administer and analyze diagnostic assessments to identify students strengths and specific literacy needs.Deliver smallgroup and 1:1 instruction to improve phonemic awareness phonics fluency vocabulary and comprehension.Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data.Collaboration & Support:Work closely with classroom teachers to align interventions with core literacy instruction.Collaborate with MTSS teams to analyze student data and determine appropriate interventions.Communicate progress and strategies with parents and caregivers to support reading development across settings.Data Collection & Progress Monitoring:Maintain detailed records of student assessments interventions and progress.Participate in PLC meetings to discuss student performance and instructional decisions.Use assessment tools to determine the effectiveness of interventions and make datadriven adjustments.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in math or related subject; masters degree or graduate level coursework preferred.The ideal candidate will possess three years of classroom experience with demonstrated effective practices.Excellent presentation and collaborative skills.Strong understanding of the Vermont MTSS Framework and best practice and strategies.A willingness to learn and receptive to feedback.Salary & Benefits: As per Teachers Negotiated Agreement.
