Job Description
Overview

Responsibilities
Ensures the safety and comfort of patients during ultrasound procedures by explaining the process addressing concerns and positioning patients correctly to promote a positive patient experience.
Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment troubleshoots technical issues and optimizes imaging parameters to produce highquality images and ensure accurate interpretations by radiologists or physicians.
Documents and records accurate patient information examination details and preliminary findings in Picture Archiving and
Communication System (PACS) and resolves any errors related to the final product being sent to PACS to maintain proper patient records and ensure comprehensive documentation for effective communication and continuity of care.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with the healthcare team including radiologists physicians nurses and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care and prompt sharing of critical findings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Radiology Imaging or related educational program
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 2 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
BLS (CPR)American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
ARDMS Ultrasound Technologist ARRT RT(S) Ultrasound Technologist or CCI RVS
RVT/RVS Registered Vascular Technologist required for sites without onsite Vascular Lab (APH ARMC & MedCenters)
Where required all current Cone Health Sonographers will have 2years to successfully complete RVT requirement. Any new candidate sonographer will have 16 months to successfully complete RVT requirement.

OB/GYN and/or ABDOMEN and/or BREAST and/or VASCULAR and/or PEDS
Preferred:
RVT/RVS Registered Vascular Technologist preferred for sites with onsite Vascular Lab (MCH & WLH)
