Job Description Summary
The newly founded Population Health Informatics Program at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine is seeking to fill a twelvemonth nontenure track Investigator/Research Assistant Professor position. General Responsibilities: Engage in collaborative research with clinical and basic scientists Developing an independent line of research in the area of biomedical or health informatics Present research at national and international meetings Write scientific papers Assist in developing and writing grant applications Perform analysis and provide statistical and computational support on research projects Create and maintain databases from biomedical data Perform predictive analytics on biomedical data Develop and implement textmining solutions Write computer programs/scripts for various research projects Be very familiar with software packages such as Matlab or R. and with programming languages such as JAVA PERL or Python Participate in training and supervise staff and graduate students Additionally candidates must have: A strong research trackrecord along with a minimum of 3 years of fulltime research experience in the field of informatics Background in biomedical sciences Candidates with a strong background in predictive analytics and textmining will receive priority
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in computer science statistics or biomedical informatics.
