• Associate degree or certification required; bachelors degree preferred; experience in lieu of degree accepted.
• Understanding of general engineering concepts and construction drawings.
• Familiarity of acceptable drafting skills and computer aided drafting techniques.
• Baseline knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and PC applications.
• Desire to learn wet/dry utility plans and water wastewater roadway and drainage designs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects related to water sewer drainage and roadway.
• Work with personnel in the design and preparation of detailed computer aided drawings from survey data files.
• Work with rough sketches drawings specifications and other data received for the development of final construction drawings.
• Accurately plot plan views and profile drawings to include crosssections spot elevations buildings walls fences roadways rightsofway underground utilities tunnels overhead power lines and other structures noted in the survey record drawings.
• Complete edits and modify plans as reviewed by agencies municipalities and clients as directed.
• Provide additional project support by drafting documents and computations as needed.
• Calculate or determine project utility dimensions profile grades route elevations underground utility line elevations underground utility line sizes and quantity of materials needed.
• Prioritize and effectively plan and file records and key documents for easy access of others.
• Coordinate with clients and CobbFendley employees to meet completion dates and budgets.
• Perform independent research and adapt to changing priorities.
• Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work product.
• Adhere to CobbFendleys safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

Most work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and outdoor environments for observations will be required.

• Seated and Standing Position.Extended periods of sitting and standing in an upright position at a workstation.
• Mobility.Movement within the office and job sites including navigating between floors workstations and outdoor environments with potential for uneven surfaces.
• Neck Movement.Forward flexion extension or lateral rotation of the head and neck while using multiple computer screens.
• Repetitive Motion.Repetitive finger movements for operating a computer mouse and typing on a keyboard.
• Arm Movement.Extending hands and arms in various directions such as overhead below the waist forward or laterally.
• Object Handling.Raising or lowering objects from one level to another and transporting objects by holding them in the hands arms or over the shoulder.

• Office Conditions.Includes extensive use of electronic devices such as computers printers copiers scanners plotters and telephones. Additionally tasks may involve the use of cutting tools and equipment like rotary paper cutters and plotting devices.
• Outdoor Conditions.Includes walking and climbing on uneven surfaces confined spaces and exposure to extreme weather conditions (heat and freezing temperatures). Potential exposure to high noise levels and various allergens including poison ivy sumac dust pollen and cedar. Potential exposure to wildlife hazards such as animals insects and plants.
• Safety and Equipment Use.Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required along with use of hand and power tools.
• Driving and Vehicle Use.May involve driving large pickup trucks with attached trailers potentially operating watercraft and for extended periods of time.

EXPECTED WORK HOURS

• This is a fulltime position generally 40 hours per week however hours may fluctuate depending on department needs including the use of overtime.
• CobbFendleys standard operating hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST. Generally employees receive a 1hour unpaid lunch break free of duty. Please note operating hours and lunch hours may differ based on project workload primarily for field staff.
