Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assist the Principal and Director in implementing a cohesive and appropriate program of academic studySupport the Principal in monitoring and evaluating teacher performance classroom environments and professional responsibilities using the RI Model Evaluation and Support SystemSUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the supervision of the principal and/or Director with latitude to exercise independent judgment in the performance of assignments. Work is subject to review periodically or upon completion for results achieved and for adherence to professional standards of conduct.SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Generally noneFUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Principal in providing support in current curricular trends and instructional practices addressing the needs of Deaf and HardofHearing students across a variety of grades.Support the Principal in creating schedulesSupport the Principal in planning and implementing professional developmentSupport the teaching and learning community by overseeing the planning and implementation of lessons in prek12 classroomDevelop and maintain an optimum learning climate for the unique needs of our students ensuring alignment with standards and effective implementation of lessonsInventory order/ reorder classroom materials and supplies related to the curriculumProvide Science of Reading training to staffFacilitate Professional Learning Community meetings and oversee team meetings facilitated by lead teachersProvide support in current curricular trends and instructional practices addressing the needs of Deaf and HardofHearing students across a variety of grades.Conduct classroom visits and periodic observations and provide regular and constructive feedback to faculty and staff while respecting individual teaching styles.Recognize model and promote effective teaching strategies enabling students to apply their learning to realworld experiences.Provide opportunities and support for teacher collaboration the exchange of ideas and experimentation with innovative teaching.
