POSITION SUMMARY
The Career Coach Manager is responsible for leading a team of Career Coaches in providing comprehensive support and guidance to STRIVE students. Under the direction of the Managing Director this role ensures that students successfully navigate systemic social barriers and gain access to education training and employment opportunities. The Career Coach Supervisor will oversee coaching strategies program implementation and student engagement while ensuring compliance with program objectives and performance metrics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise and provide direct support ensuring effective strategies are implemented.
- Monitor team performance provide feedback and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress challenges and best practices.
- Ensure consistency in coaching practices and adherence to program goals.
- Liaison to program managers of external funding sources or government contracts.
- Flexibility to travel between STRIVE locations and partner locations.
Program Coordination and Development
- Oversee career coaching services to ensure students receive guidance on job readiness skill development and employment strategies.
- Collaborate with program staff to enhance student assessments goal setting and career planning.
- Develop strategies to improve student retention participation and longterm engagement.
- Implement best practices for career coaching and case management to maximize student success.
Coaching and Support Services Oversight
- Ensure Team effectively assess student strengths barriers and needs related to employment.
- Review and refine career development plans goalsetting strategies and job readiness preparation.
- Provide support and guidance to Career Coaches in managing caseloads and addressing student challenges.
- Monitor referrals to community resources for housing childcare clothing and other supportive services.
Data Management and Compliance
- Prepare reports for government contracts including compiling analyzing data related to job training and employment outcomes.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of retention reports to funders.
- Oversee the accurate collection and reporting of student progress and outcomes in Apricot or other performance management systems.
- Administer the distribution of metro cards to clients who are enrolled in hard skills training. Including maintain records for reporting documenting and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with program policies eligibility requirements and funding guidelines.
- Conduct periodic reviews of case notes reports and data entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and submit required reports on program performance and student success metrics.
Retention and Employer Engagement
- Lead and coordinate with Employment Specialists to track student employment retention and gather employer feedback for the team.
- Develop strategies to maintain communication and followup with program graduates for up to two years.
- Support initiatives to enhance longterm student success and workforce engagement.
- Foster relationships with employers training providers and community organizations to enhance job placement opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Represent the program at community events resource fairs and networking opportunities.
- Identify new opportunities to improve service delivery and student engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in social work psychology vocational rehabilitation workforce development or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in career coaching workforce development case management or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and case management software (Apricot preferred).
- Experience working with individuals facing multiple barriers to employment including justiceinvolved individuals and those in crisis.
- High level of organization attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to travel between boroughs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Commitment to empowering individuals through education training and employment opportunities.
Location: Inperson Monday Friday in our NYCs located in Harlem and Brooklyn.
