The Special Education educator will work with individual or small groups of students to reinforce areas of the curriculum taught by the primary content teacher; or to work on developing the skills necessary for students to access to curriculum at grade level (i.e. literacy skills numeracy skills language skills organizational skills retention skills social skills etc) per the IEP or 504. Special Education educator is also responsible for the coordination and collaboration of services needed by students provided by St. Monica School and or the residing school system. The position is parttime 15 18 hours per week. The position requires strong classroom management skills; and motivational skills are essential. Regular communication with participating students parents teachers building administration and others at the request of the building principal about student progress is required.The ideal candidate will possess a BA or Masters degree licensure in elementary education and or special education. Candidate will have experience working with students with learning disabilities and/or students who are English Language Learners. Candidate will have experience working with data writing 504 plans and familiar with the IEP process. Strong verbal and written communication skills needed.
