How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Manager Compliance & Legal Operations you will partner daily with crossfunctional team members on administrative and strategic projects that will advance process improvement and compliance initiatives for the enterprise. Oversee program and process development to ensure a userfriendly business focused approach to compliance and further adherence to SPX core values.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX your core responsibilities will be:
1. Enterprise Compliance Programs

  • Develop strategic vision implement and manage the companys Compliance & Ethics Program (CEP) assisting in the development and continuous improvement of the program
  • Assist in conducting enterprise risk assessments and developing strategies for compliance risk mitigation
  • Oversee development and implementation of corporate policies from research and benchmarking through to implementation and ongoing assessment of effectiveness
  • Partner with functional leaders and local business leaders to support implementation of programs policies regulatory requirements and inquiries/investigations
  • Develop and deploy training strategy on internal legal compliance policies and external regulatory rules
  • Oversee administration of programs through online learning platforms
  • Create and maintain internal in person training materials on selected matters
  • Audit and test (support Internal Audit) business compliance processes including due diligence screening FCPA etc.
  • Perform compliance due diligence for corporate acquisitions
  • Manage the companys Compliance & Ethics Program (CEP)
  • Manage the companys confidential compliance concern reporting system (familiarity with EthicsPoint platform by Navex Global is a plus)
  • Monitor and investigate internal compliance issues and external inquiries/investigations
  • Assist in the development/continuous improvement of the CEP
  • Work crossfunctionally to plan and implement the rollout of compliance and ethics programs
  • Oversee administration of and compliance of the companys Records Retention Program
  • Monitor current records retention program
  • Support the auditing of compliance at various locations with a focus on electronic records

2. Process Support/Legal Operations

  • Assist business unit legal counsel in administering Import/Export Compliance Program
  • Manage and track assessments through GAN platform
  • Oversee process for travel security risk assessments
  • Administer and maintain various legal support software platforms
  • Negotiate and administer rate cards and alternative legal fee structures with law firms
  • Coordinate and ensure accountability on legal team initiatives
  • Manage relationships with external firms and providers including providing feedback and evaluations of firms and individual lawyers
  • Participate in other projects (as assigned) that relate to the overall goals of the department and enterprise

What we are looking for (Experience Knowledge Skills Abilities Education)
We each bring something to the table and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
3 years of applicable experience in the field of law legal operations corporate compliance or related field
Experience working with legal/compliance application software
Experience working in a large multiregional corporate Legal environment
Preferred Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated project management experience including the ability to lead and influence crossfunctional teams
Experience working across diverse businesses and industries in a global environment
Proven ability to operate to companys high standards of confidentiality ethics and integrity
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a distributed team environment
Excellent analytical skills including the ability to compile review and determine logical conclusions or recommendations based on data and information which is varied in content and format
Work well in a demanding and fastpaced environment with the ability to deliver on time
Ability to work independently to achieve objectives
Working knowledge of compliance laws including import/export FCPA ITAR conflict minerals records retention and UK Modern Slavery Act
Knowledge of software platforms including Skillsoft Percipio EthicsPoint GAN and Serengeti Tracker preferred
Knowledge of Import/Export applications including ACE (and predecessor ACH and AES) and Kewill is a plus
Education & Certifications
Bachelors degree in a related field
Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC) from Ethics and Compliance Certification Institute; Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) from Compliance Certification Board; or similar recognized compliance and ethics professional certification
Travel & Working Environment
Hybrid work schedule 2 3 days per week on site
<10 travel
