Job Description
ABC22 and FOX44 in the beautiful Champlain Valley are looking for an enthusiastic Newscast Producer. Our shows focus on local news that really matters to our viewers. Our stations cover VT NY NH and southern Quebec so there is never a shortage of news. Work with a great group of journalists and have a little fun too! Live and work in one of the countrys most scenic locations.
The News Producerproduces daily newscast items decides the order in which stories will be told writes teases and other content times news programs edits video and posts video to the website.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produces content across all platforms including but not limited to newscasts and special.
- Writes and orders news stories.
- Approves scripts.
- Balances news and feature content to create compelling content.
- Edits video.
- Writes stories for the website.
- Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in journalism or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and workrelated experience.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with computers telephones copiers scanners fax machines and other office equipment.
- Flexibility to work any shift.
