Job Description
Walpole Public Schools is seeking a teacher aide (kindergarten) 18.75 hours per week atElm StreetSchool effective immediatelyfor theremainder of theschool year.
Kindergarten Aide Role:
The Kindergarten aide supports students socially emotionally and academically in a kindergarten classroom and reinforces behavioral expectations across all settings playground halls Art Music PE etc. The Kindergarten Aide collaborates with classroom teachers.
Duties:
- Assist the classroom teacher in creating an environment that is conducive to learning.
- Assist in maintaining standards of student behavior and the schools core values.
- Assist classroom teacher(s) in performing specific duties as assigned.
- Assist in providing individual and smallgroup instruction.
- Assist with transitions e.g. arrival from one learning activity to another dismissal.
- Alert the teacher to the needs of individual students.
- Provide individual assistance to children as necessary.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Help maintain expectations in the classroom; monitor students to keep them on task.
- Perform related work as required.
Salary and benefits per theCafeteria/Teacher Aide Contract.
