The Cypress Hills District is located 65km South of Medicine Hat and covers approximately 200 sq km of provincial park. The district includes Red Rock Coulee Michelle Reservoir. The focal point is the Elkwater Townsite with 300 cottages 10 campgrounds 5 group camps and front & backcountry comfort camping.
WritingonStone/ Aisinaipi was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019. This unique site in the Canadian Badlands protects a vast collection of ancient pictographs and petroglyphs created by Blackfoot and other First Nations aweinspiring badlands setting is a rugged yet fragile location that is home to numerous species at promotes a living culture landscape and works to provide authentic stories and interpretation to visitors from around the world.
