FT Staff Head Coach-Womens Volleyball

Shaw is looking for a Head Coach Womens Volleyball to take on a championship team!Reporting to the Athletics Director or designee the Head Coach Womens Volleyball is responsible for the overall direction and management of the womens volleyball program. This includes daytoday administrative and program management leadership recruitment retention and skills training as it relates to a competitive NCAA Division II Volleyball program capable of winning CIAA championships and capable of competing for a National Championship. The Head Coach is accountable for ensuring the teams compliance with NCAA and CIAA rules and regulations and with University policies procedures and budgetary constraints. The Head Coach will actively participate in fundraising endeavors and committee service as assigned. The position is accountable for ensuring effective personal management of subordinate personnel collaboration with all campus constituents and maintain a student focus environment that will provide a positive studentathlete experience.

Essential Job Functions:

• Administration of all phases of the womens volleyball program including scheduling nonconference games.
• Ensures the effective instruction of studentathletes in the sport of womens Volleyball. Serves as an effective coach in the development of successful strategies for Volleyball competition and the reinforcement of studentathletes character development personal motivation and leadership.
• Ensures effective recruitment of studentathletes for the Volleyball program.
• Adheres to all institutional applicable conference and all other rules regulations and policies.
• Assists in fundraising with major fundraisers in the Athletic Department in consultation with the Office of Institutional Advancement and the Athletic Director.
• Implements effective strategies to retain students athletically and academically. Monitors and supports the academic success of the studentathlete.
• Acts as a liaison to help coordinate community service involvement.
• Effectively prepares and manages the teams budget and follow the policies set forth by the office of Finance and Administration.
• Assists the Assistant Athletic Director/Media Relations during the offseason for marketing and promotions strategies and any other duties as assigned.
• Assists the Associate Director of AthleticsCompliance during the offseason for all duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Assistant Volleyball Coach (Seasonal)

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher learning; or combination of education and experience
• At least two years of head coaching experience coaching Volleyball in Division II/III or higher; or at least 5 years serving as a fulltime assistant or associate head coach of Volleyball in Division II/III or higher
• NCAA Rules Compliance (Division II).
• NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse Procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Volleyball Rules & Regulations
• Computer skill proficiency with Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel software
