Eastleigh HSSU Hub Driver Bank Ad hoc Part time
12.33 per hour
Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an adhoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.
Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) transports sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to our local hospital network. If you have a full driving licence with a C1 entitlement that allows you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
As a Driver on our Eastleigh HSSU team youre comfortable with manual handling and happy to move transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250kg. As well as a basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation you ideally hold a driver digital tachograph card and be CPC trained. Youll be a great ambassador for our unit and our customers first point of contact.
As a Driver you will:
Collect and make deliveries by van or car to customers driving 7.5T vehicles
Receive and check deliveries of medical devices from customers
Help keep equipment in good working order and report any faults
Keep a clean tidy work environment and identify stock issues as they arise
Maintain accurate tachograph records and documentation
Be flexible with your working hours (shifts operate between 4am and 10pm Monday to Friday (with varying times on Saturdays) Enhancements paid for unsocial hour working.
As a Bank Worker youll be called on to provide cover during periods of sickness holidays or increased workload. Well give you a uniform and personal protective equipment. You wont be classified as an employee so therell be no fixed working pattern or entitlement to guaranteed or continuous employment.
