Grandview Heights School is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist beginning in theschool year!
Title: School Psychologist
Reports to: Chief studentGrowth and Development Officer
Employment Status: Regular Exempt GHEABargaining Member
Position Summary: Conduct multifactored andinterventionbased assessments and provide leadership in problem solving with school staff parents and agencies.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in School Psychology
- School Psychology license/certificate from the Ohio Department of Education
Essential Functions
- Thorough knowledge and understanding Federal State and local rules governing Special Education and related disciplines
- Ability to effectively implement Federal State and local rules for Special Education in a timely manner
- Assist parents and teachers with problem solving
- Assess students who are suspected of having a disability according to Board adopted procedures
- Assemble interpret and organize information for multifactored evaluation reports
- Compose summarize and issue reports and other documents as necessary
- Assist with crisis intervention when appropriate
- Provide situationappropriate counseling services to students
- Provide parent educationservices
- Thorough knowledge of tests and measurementsas they pertain to the position
- Mastery in consultative counseling and conferencing skills
- Serves as a role model in the practice of ethical principles responsible behavior and democraticvalues
- Work with andhelp lead the MTSS process
Professional Development
- Engage in continuous professional growth and complete a professional development plan according to procedures
adopted by the district - Be available for education and psychology related purposes outside the instructional day when requested to do so
and under reasonable circumstances - Serve on committees and participate in school related activities in a professional and responsible manner
- Learn and implement the administrative procedures associated with the psychology assignment; for example
purchase procedures for testing supplies
Communication and Collaboration
- Interpret Special Education rules and procedures to staff parents and community members
- Consult with principals school counselors teachers and other applicable staff members to appropriately assign
assessment and problem solving responsibilities - Communicate with agencies authorities and private practitioners according to confidentiality guidelines and other
district procedures - Use sound judgment tact and diplomacy when interacting with students parents and the community
- Maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain an appropriate personal appearance and hygiene
- Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services the Superintendent or his/her designee
