Controls Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

• Write implement and test code to control machine motion per requirements
• Problem solving and solution recommendation
• Provide engineering support to customers
• Support the testing and installation of equipment
• Provide training for internal and external customers
• Provide feedback and support on Aagards process and standards for continuous improvement
• Provide support to the manufacturing floor and Customer Technical Service department
• Assist in the development and maintenance of Aagards standards
• Follow safe work practices
• Recommend and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Communicate openly share knowledge build positive collaboration between departments and team members
• Support and contribute to department and company metrics
• Be actively engaged in continuous improvement projects and culture

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Knowledge of programming practices
• Knowledge of motion and timing
• Knowledge of mechanical controls and electrical systems
• Ability to read electrical prints
• Knowledge of electronic components
• Experience or training with PCs servos and PLCs
• Previous experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley products preferred
• Previous experience with Beckhoff controls software a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
