Job Description

Reporting to the Academy Supervisor the Vocational Teachers role is to help students learn career area subject matter in accordance with educational frameworks and skills that will contribute to their development as mature able and responsible men and women.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar related or a logical assignment to the position. *Teaches districtapproved curriculum; prepares lesson plans accordingly.*Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.*Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students.*Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.*Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and work ethic when working on special projects.*Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goalsestablishes clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.*Ensures accuracy and best practices for compliance with organizational standards.*Keeps records and prepares progress reports.*Keeps current in discipline and teaching techniques.*Participates in professional development and remains current in the field.*Any other relative teaching duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises the classroom and students.
