The Khurshid lab focuses on the alternative splicing in tumors particularly examining how metabolic starvation and other factors within the tumor microenvironment affect the splicing of various genes and/ or the related RNA binding proteins to promote tumorigenesis.

For more information please visit Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct independent scientific research including advanced laboratory testing experiments and data analysis. They will design and develop research objectives evaluate findings and contribute to scientific literature through manuscript writing.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team. The successful candidate will conduct independent scientific research focused on understanding alternative splicing in cancer and its modulation by the tumor microenvironment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cuttingedge research with implications for therapyresistant and metastatic tumors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute independent laboratory experiments including complex molecular and cellular assays.
  • Investigate the role of RNAbinding proteins (RBPs) and alternative splicing in tumor progression.
  • Analyze experimental data interpret results and draw meaningful conclusions to advance project goals.
  • Develop and optimize research methodologies and experimental approaches.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to ongoing projects.
  • Prepare and publish research findings in highimpact peerreviewed journals.
  • Present research at scientific conferences seminars and lab meetings.
  • Assist in grant writing and contribute to securing research funding.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ph.D. in Cancer Biology Molecular Biology Biochemistry or a related field.
  • Strong background in RNA biology alternative splicing and tumor microenvironment studies.
  • Handson experience with molecular biology techniques such as RNA sequencing qPCR immunoprecipitation and gene editing (e.g. CRISPR) 3D cell culture models.
  • Proven track record of scientific publications in peerreviewed journals.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

Requires a doctorate degree in a clinical health or life science field.

Management experience is highly recommended. Selected from national applicant pool or known to be nationally competitive.
