What Are We Looking For

  • Position Title: Major Gifts Associate

  • Reports to: Manager Fund Development

Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Major Gifts Associate who is wellnetworked to cultivate and secure highvalue donations that drive meaningful impact. This role will focus on developing and stewarding relationships with major donors securing multiyear commitments and advancing our mission through philanthropy.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our major gifts program identifying new opportunities and building sustainable revenue streams to support families facing homelessness. You must be highly comfortable and confident soliciting significant gifts through inperson meetings phone conversations and tailored donor communications.


What Youll Do

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors building strong lasting relationships.
  • Solicit and secure annual multiyear planned and corporate gifts with a focus on highimpact donations.
  • Develop and implement customized cultivation solicitation and stewardship strategies for each donor.
  • Increase donor engagement through personalized communications exclusive events and tailored experiences.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify new major donor prospects and deepen existing donor relationships.
  • Ensure accurate donor records by tracking all interactions in Raisers Edge.
  • Lead stewardship initiatives ensuring donors feel valued and recognized for their impact.
  • Support the development of donor recognition policies to maintain consistency and fairness.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador for The Inn at external networking events industry functions and donor meetings.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members strengthening the overall fundraising capacity.


This position description reflects the general duties of the role but is not intended to include all duties that may be inherent in the position. The Major Gifts Associate may be asked to perform other duties as required or assigned.


What You Bring to Our Mission

  • Bachelors degree in a related field such as Business Administration or Nonprofit Management
  • 5 years relevant experience in a similar role with a nonprofit sales experience may be considered
  • Jobrelated experience with Raisers Edge or other similar databases and high proficiency knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of professionalism
  • Thrives in a fastpaced environment; fast learner and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and independently manage multiple diverse and competing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to exercise good judgment with minimal supervision
  • Extraordinary commitment to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Must have high attention to detail and precise accuracy
  • Access to a vehicle and updated drivers license is an asset as there are times that pickups and donor visits are required
  • Complete all assigned INN training
  • Police check and Child Intervention checks are required for employment
  • Understand and abide by the Donor Bill of Rights
  • CFRE designation is considered an asset
