Job Description
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast affordable broadband to a wide range of customers including consumers businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Be part of the team integrating and verifying the system level architecture of Project Kuipers broadband wireless system from customer end points to terrestrial gateways via Low Earth Orbit satellites. This is a unique opportunity to define a wireless solution with few legacy constraints.
From directly interacting with numerous backend services supporting the mission to controlling systems such as satellites and ground infrastructure to automating equipment to support validation opportunities to learn and develop are extensive!
Expected upto 30 travel to Redmond campus.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
Develop and maintain software solutions for automation reporting and tasks related to both inlab and inorbit payload & TT&C links verification.
Enhance existing architecture utilized by the team used for automating test best bringups verifications and configuration management.
Leverage various Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support automation solutions such as SMS Lambda CloudWatch Systems Manager S3 etc.
Use software development best practices such as automated code testing and CI/CD
Would also like someone with experience developing software for systemlevel satellite testing including functional RF and network testing
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Experience programming in Python
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience with automation for hardware measurements and system testing such as networking performance.
Familiarity with various AWS services such as IAM S3 CodeDeploy Lambda Amazon SageMaker QuickSight etc.
Background with working with large datasets databases and data visualization.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market.
