Who Were Looking For
ToyotasEnvironmental and Facilities Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Facilities Operations Principal Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Environmental & Facilities Operations function at the TMNA R&D Michigan site.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Operations Environmental & Facilities the person in this role will support the Environmental & Facilities departments objective to ensure plant infrastructure and utility systems readiness in order to achieve safe building operation and testing.
This role also is expected to provide leadership and guidance for other technicians both new and experienced. Additional responsibilities may include coordination among team members and contractors running morning startup meetings and mentoring or guiding other technicians.
What Youll Be Doing
Support daily operations and maintenance for Plant utility and building systems Power chilled water compressed air pumps and HVAC
Communicate with equipment operators on equipment function / concerns
Perform preventative and general maintenance
Support strategy implementation for safety and environmental compliance KPI tracking and cost management
Implement operational and maintenance improvement strategies.
Provide input on new projects/ drawing reviews / Arc Flash / CoHE assessments
Diagnose and repair facility equipment problems
Interface with vendors to understand scope and cost of repairs (when outsource is needed). Confirm status of equipment when complete
Seek out and solve problems proactively
Model high standards of integrity openness trust and respect for others
Facilitate change by serving as a role model for new technicians
Reinforce PDCA mindset and the importance of sustainable solutions
What You Bring
Experience in a facilities maintenance role
2 years of experience mentoring technicians in daily operations/maintenance activities
2 years of experience in working with electrical systems up to 480V
Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical prints
2 years of plant utility systems experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Added Bonus If You Have
Journeymen training/experience or equivalent
OSHA10 Training
Experience in Excel Word and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Experience making KPI improvements
Experience providing comprehensive analysis with specific data/details
Experience managing project budgets
Experience managing multiple tasks
