PURPOSE: The Talent Acquisition Manager will drive innovative hiring strategies that strengthen our workforce and align with our mission to empower working people. This role will play a pivotal part in helping shape the organizations talent strategyleading inclusive and equityfocused recruitment efforts to attract toptier professionals passionate about making a difference. Performs full lifecycle recruitment to include but not limited to: writing job descriptions sourcing interviewing entering and analyzing salary data and making and negotiating offers. The Talent Acquisition Manager will partner closely with leadership to ensure we build a workforce that reflects our values and commitment to justice equity and advocacy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead fullcycle recruitment efforts including job posting sourcing prescreening interviewing (virtual and inperson) reference and background checks compensation analysis and offer negotiation.
  • Develop and execute strategic inclusive and innovative talent acquisition initiatives to attract and retain highimpact talent ensuring alignment with organizational needs and workforce planning.
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess talent needs develop hiring strategies and provide guidance on candidate selection.
  • Enhance employer branding efforts by promoting SEIUs mission and values across hiring platforms leveraging social media and other networks to attract top candidates.
  • Foster a diverse and equitable hiring process by designing job postings and outreach efforts that cultivate inclusive applicant pools.
  • Maintain a positive candidate experience by ensuring transparent communication timely followups and a seamless selection process.
  • Leverage data and analytics to assess recruitment effectiveness identify trends and inform decisionmaking.
  • Collaborate with Organizational Partners to align talent acquisition efforts with longterm workforce planning and development strategies.

CONTACTS: This role interacts with SEIU managers and staff SEIU local unions and affiliates vendors contractors community groups colleges and universities other unions and federal and state agencies to support strategic recruitment efforts.

DIRECTION & DECISION MAKING: This position reports to the Assistant Director of Human Resources or their designee.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the role. A bachelors degree in Human Resources Business or a related field is preferred but not required. Candidates with at least four 4 years of relevant experience in talent acquisition workforce strategy or recruitment in missiondriven organizations labor unions or nonprofits are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • A combination of education and experience that demonstrates expertise in talent acquisition and recruitment strategy. A bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with labor unions or nonprofits is a pluswe value professionals who understand missiondriven work and are committed to equity and workforce advocacy.
  • Thorough understanding of human resources practices and principles with a deep knowledge of full lifecycle recruiting and the creation of talent pipelines.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and adapt to changing workforce needs in a fastpaced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and relationshipbuilding skills with the ability to engage candidates hiring managers and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities including the capacity to assess workforce trends interpret data and develop strategic hiring solutions.
  • Unwavering commitment to confidentiality and discretion ensuring sensitive information is handled with the highest level of integrity.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite HRIS and recruitment technology (such as UltiPro) to optimize the hiring process.
  • HR or Talent Acquisition certification preferredbut not required were looking for someone with the drive expertise and passion to lead transformative hiring initiatives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is primarily performed in an office setting but may occasionally take place in other environments as needed to complete job responsibilities. This role requires some travel and may involve extended hours.
