Job Title: Clinician
Report to: Director Wellness Center
Dept: Mental Health Services Wellness Center
Location: Wellness Center 345 S. San Pedro Street Los Angeles CA 90013
Schedule:Monday Friday 8:00 am 4:30 pm
Status: Full Time; NonManagement; NonExempt (hourly no paid lunch)

Summary
As part of an interdisciplinary team the Clinician will conduct psychotherapy with adult members that have severe and persistent mental illness at the Wellness Center site. The Clinicians primary responsibilities are to engage members and to coordinate mental and recovery services that will ensure housing stability and community integrations. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest quality provision of direct individual and group therapeutic and case management services while fostering teamwork among staff and across departments and programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide coordinate and implement mental health and recovery support services with individual members.
2. Conduct individual family and group psychotherapy and document services using Department of Mental Health (DMH) and MediCal guidelines.
3. Develop effective trusting relationships with members with a focus on facilitating independence and maintenance of improved physical and mental health.
4. Collaborate with each member to develop their individual treatment plan review and update it upon completion of goals.
5. Assist management and other Clinicians with program evaluation for future program improvements and growth.
6. Assist members with becoming involved in daily activities socialization health maintenance sense of community and progress in recovery reflecting of The People Concerns model which emphasizes customer choice harm reduction and psychosocial rehabilitation.
7. Work cooperatively and cohesively with other members of the Wellness Center team including participation in weekly staff meetings group clinical supervision and trainings.
8. Provide crisis intervention services.
Qualifications:
1. Masters degree in Social Work Marriage and Family Therapy or Psychology from an accredited university
2. Must be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or have the ability to do so within the first 90 days of employment
3. Outstanding clinical and strong teambuilding skills.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Word Outlook Excel and database applications.
5. Detail oriented with excellent time management organizational written verbal interpersonal and computer skills.
6. Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and with minimal supervision.
7. Valid CA Drivers license reliable car auto insurance and an acceptable driving record
8. Able to transport members in your vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. BBS registered (preferred) or BBS eligible in CA
2. Experience working with those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions
3. Experience completing DMH documentation
4. Bilingual Spanish preferred
Work Environment:
Combination of either field and/or office environment depending on position
On occasion walk or drive to different agency sites
May/Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments depending on position
May/Will be exposed to elements like cold heat dust noise and odor depending on position
May need to bend stoop twist and sit throughout the day
Regularly required to sit stand bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
