The City of Abbotsfords Fleet Services division is currently seeking two experienced Red Seal HeavyDuty or Commercial Transport Mechanics with a passion for customer service and teamwork to join our skilled team as Trades II (Technicians).
In this challenging yet rewarding role you will perform general mechanical overhaul and maintenance work on a wide variety of Automotive and HeavyDuty equipment such as road sweepers backhoes motors graders trucks and diesel and gas engines. You will utilize your knowledge of electronic diagnostic equipment for computerized systems to undertake preventative maintenance and inspection and prepare reports of conditon and recommendations.
You will have good knowledge of fuel systems and superior mechanical aptitiude as well as an appreciation for proper safety practices and proceedures. Your strong communication and organization skills along with your ability to work effectively in a fastpaced team environment will make you an asset to the team.
As our ideal candidate you will have:
- Red Seal Trades Qualification in Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport Mechanic
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the trade
- Valid Class 3 BC Drivers Licence
- Valid Certificate for Commercial Vehicle Inspection Permits (BC)
This position is unionized C.U.P.E Local 774 and the hourly rate of pay is from $36.22to $42.62.
