Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the EMEA VAT Manager the EMEA VAT Analyst supports the monthly/quarterly/annual VAT compliance processes with the support of our external service provider in order to ensure that VAT statements for the countries in scope in the EMEA region are filed timely and accurately.

Some of the activities will include:

  • Properly use of tools to ensure observation of internal policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other departments
  • Review of VAT related entries posted in SAP
  • Data extraction and communication with our external compliance partner (Big4
  • Perform manual adjustments to ensure correctness of VAT returns and communicate such adjustments to the external partner
  • Provide additional support to our external partner in relation to VAT data required for returns preparation
  • Perform high level review of draft VAT returns provided by our external partner
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of VAT accounts
  • Keep informed on VAT updates in reporting countries
  • Initiate payment process for the countries in scope and support with the acceleration of VAT refunds
  • Support the EMEA Senior VAT analysts and EMEA VAT Manager in dealing with internal and external tax audits (e.g. provide needed documentation maintain communication with the relevant stakeholders)
  • Liaise with the European AP / Accounting / Customs teams to ensure VAT compliance across all jurisdictions is accurate

Main duties:

  • Support the monthly/quarterly/annual VAT compliance processes to provide the required data for the preparation of VAT returns for the countries in scope.
  • Perform required VAT adjustments for the preparation of the returns.
  • Escalate complex issues faced and track the resolution process accordingly.
  • erform account reconciliations for the accounts assigned.

To Join Our Team You Will Need:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance (or similar) or Diploma holder who is currently pursuing professional qualifications
  • 13 years of experience in VAT advisory (preferably Big4 or general financial accounting / billing
  • Romanian VAT Compliance knowledge and basic understanding of EU VAT principles
  • Competency with computer systems: database spreadsheet Power BI (nice to have)
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate financial information to various audiences
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Demonstrate high reliability and selfmotivation (selfdriven to develop professionally)
  • Strong communication and analysis skills
  • Drive accountability and results
  • Fluent in English spoken and written
  • Nice to have: previous experience with ERP system (SAP)
