What were looking for
Greystone Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist with a strong focus on administrative excellence. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized detaildriven and enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of safety programs. The core of this position revolves around maintaining accurate safety documentation managing compliance records coordinating training sessions and supporting the daytoday administrative functions of the Safety Department.
The role is primarily based in our Shakopee MN office with occasional local travel for safety orientations jobsite visits or inspection support. While handson field safety experience is not required this position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to construction safety operations and grow into an expanded role within the department. Major expectations & accountabilities
- Provide administrative support to safety leadership including maintaining and updating Safety Policies and the AWAIR Program.
- Analyze safety data and assist in identifying goals to improve safety performance.
- Assist with the development and coordination of sitespecific safety plans in partnership with Project Managers and Superintendents.
- Coordinate companywide safety training programs and lead newhire safety orientations.
- Maintain comprehensive safety records documentation and compliance files.
- Visit local job sites for routine safety inspections followup and support.
- Assist with accident incident and injury investigations.
- Manage the purchase and organization of safety equipment and ensure readiness across sites.
- Promote Greystones safetyfirst culture through positive ongoing communication and administrative excellence.
- Perform other safetyrelated administrative duties or projects as assigned.
What youll need to be successful
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to juggle multiple responsibilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across departments and job sites.
- Selfstarter mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Willingness to assist with safetyrelated matters that may occasionally occur after hours.
- Based in or willing to commute regularly to Shakopee MN.
- Limited travel required to local job sites for field support.
- Postsecondary education preferred but not required.
- OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 certification is a plus; Greystone provides training for the right candidate.
- High level of integrity motivation and a passion for promoting safety.
- Decisive and ambitious with a continuous improvement mindset.
Qualifications that can set you apart
- Previous experience supporting construction safety programs or working in a construction environment.
- Experience delivering or coordinating safety trainings.
- Familiarity with OSHA MSHA or industryspecific safety standards.
- Experience analyzing safety data or supporting compliance documentation.
