Job Description:The paraprofessional serves as a supportive assistant to classroom and special educationteachers. Under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher the paraprofessionalmay assist with classroom management data collection small group and individual instructioncoaching monitoring direction/redirection and at times physical support for students withspecial needs.Job Qualifications Paraprofessionals are expected to hold a high school diploma or equivalent two years ofpostsecondary education or an associates degree. Paraprofessionals should have prior experience working with children in a school setting. Preferred skills include second language abilities experience working with special needsstudents and ABA strategies.Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting students in achieving academic and social successes Behavior support using verbal deescalation strategies Ability to be trained in Safety Care Personal Care/Toileting Consultation and collaboration with Special Education and Regular EducationTeachers as well as related service staff Any other duties as may be assigned by the building administrator
