Job Description
Virginia Western Community College is a twoyear public institution of higher education operating under the Virginia Community College System a statewide system of community colleges. The College operates under the policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Virginia Western Community College Local Advisory Board. Virginia Western is located on a 70acre campus in southwest Roanoke VA. The service region of the College includes Roanoke Salem Roanoke County Craig County Franklin County and southern Botetourt County. The College was established in 1966 and has grown from an initial enrollment of 1352 to its current annual enrollment of over 9000 students in credit courses and more than 1400 enrollments in fasttrack workforce and continuing education courses Virginia Western Community College located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley is accepting applications for parttime Industrial Safety Instructor in the Workforce Solutions department. The Instructor will perform a variety of technical instructional assignments and classroom preparation requiring indepth knowledge of the following topics: OSHA 10 OSHA 30 and a bridge between the two credentials. This position will also assist in all other instructor related duties to support the program and the Workforce Solutions department. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on an as needed coursebycourse semester basis.
