Job Title: System Administrator
Job Type: Fulltime
Reports to: Principal / Manager IT
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain the Organizations network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls and wireless access points.
Monitor network performance troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure optimal network security.
Implement and maintain network security protocols such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Manage and maintain the Institutions server infrastructure including file servers email servers and domain controllers.
Perform routine server maintenance updates and backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
Provide technical support to students teachers and staff addressing hardware and software issues promptly.
Assist with user account management password resets and access control.
Install update and maintain software applications used in the educational environment including learning management systems (LMS) student information systems (SIS) and classroom software.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Manage inventory and perform hardware maintenance repairs and upgrades as needed.
Coordinate with vendors for hardware warranty and repair services.
Maintain documentation of IT systems configurations and procedures for reference and training purposes.
Create and update IT policies and guidelines as necessary.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate technology into the curriculum effectively.
Assist in planning and implementing technology initiatives to enhance the educational experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
Relevant certifications Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator will be a plus.
Proven experience in IT administration preferably in an educational setting.
Proficiency in operating systems (e.g. Windows Linux) and software applications commonly used in schools/colleges.
Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for providing technical support and collaborating with various stakeholders.
