Job Description

Raptors are beneficial to humans as they feed on carrion thereby reducing harmful effects. However despite their importance raptors get little conservation attention and are becoming increasingly threatened. To address this gap WWF India has initiated raptor conservation. WWFIndia is seeking dynamic and selfmotivated management graduates with backgrounds in biological sciences to assist in coordinating the programs projects to ensure their efficient and timely completion. The position requires related duties of program administration outreach education management and volunteer coordination as well as building and maintaining relationships in the conservation space for raptor conservation. Apart from facilitating the technical outputs other responsibilities include facilitating the development of proposals for conservation projects supporting project management and monitoring and evaluation engaging with key stakeholders (government and nongovernment agencies) and contributing to conservation research and technical output development. This position will be based in New Delhi at the WWFIndia Secretariat.

Job Profile:
  • Assist the DirectorRaptor Conservation Programme in overseeing implementation of projects in the Raptor Conservation Programme.
  • Providing technical support to different programme components viz. conservation issues and community development across issues where relevant and as directed by the DirectorRaptor Conservation Programme.
  • Coordinating with relevant agencies within and outside the region and the country on issues related to the Raptor Conservation Programme.
  • Responsible for assisting the DirectorRaptor Conservation Programme in technical and financial monitoring of the Raptor Conservation Programme and for timely reporting on this based on agreed timelines and formats.
  • Responsible for communicating and collaborating with program stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with vendors related to the raptor conservation program

Requirements

Desired Qualifications Experience and Abilities:
  • Masters in Science / Wildlife Conservation/ or a degree in management
  • Minimum 3 years experience of working in biodiversity conservation and an experience of managing projects on biodiversity or wildlife would be preferred
  • Experience of working with donors / local communities/NGOs
  • Liaison with local partners.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to document and write technical reports.
  • Ability to monitor and review work.
  • Assist in managing partnerships.
  • Timely delivery of work
