Job Description
- Play a crucial role in supporting highquality scalable mRNA manufacturing and innovation in the growing WA biotechnology sector.
- Parttime 0.2 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until December 2025.
- Base salary range: $80243 $88940 p.a. (prorata) plus 17 superannuation.
About the area
The National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Scheme the WA state government and UWA have fully funded a dedicated RNA manufacturing facility called the RNA Innovation Foundry. The RNA Innovation Foundry enables the manufacturing of quality mRNA suitable for preclinical research that negates the need for individual laboratories to establish and maintain their own production. The facility will provide scaleup manufacturing capacity for RNA products to WA customers and support therapeutic research translation.
About the opportunity
- Provide technical design and support to the RNA manufacturing workflow of the RNA Innovation Foundry (RIF).
- Coordinate and conduct experimental design and of molecular biology aspects of the mRNA production workflow including technical troubleshooting.
- Compile results of experiments into reports and procedures.
- Compile reports comprising the results of experiments and explanations as to how the results were obtained
About you
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in a field of molecular biology with knowledge of RNA biology.
- Honours degree in cell biology genetics or biochemistry is desirable.
- Substantial relevant experience in modern molecular cell biology methods and laboratory skills including cell culture transfection RNA extraction RTqPCR and microscopy
- Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
