Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to faculty in the design development and maintenance of courses that meets program and course learning goals and enhances the educational experience on all levels i.e. pedagogy and andragogy heutagogy.
  2. Plan develop and conduct workshops that focus on instructional technology tools media and instructional design for faculty development.
  3. Work with faculty and professional staff to develop and implement multimedia instructional methods technology and curriculum aiming to improve instructional consistency and student learning.
  4. Assist faculty in effectively using instructional technology by providing instructional technology support services and implementing interactive strategies.
  5. Provide oneonone just in time training that is tailored to the specific needs of faculty/staff in instructional technology programs topics and hardware.
  6. Serve as primary campus support contact for all aspects of the Lamaku Learning Management System including consulting on instructional design providing technical support to the faculty on problems and responding to requests for assistance.
  7. Coach advise and teach faculty how to develop and improve their online courses to meet UHs Quality Online Standards.
  8. Provide TurnKey course development services for faculty who require assistance in all aspects of Lamaku course development and in the daily management of their courses.
  9. Research and develop specific custom hardware and software solutions for faculty use in online and facetoface instruction.
  10. Collect and analyze data craft written documents and reports develop and publish various campus communications.
  11. Research and keep current on instructional trends and technologies.
  12. Coach direct and supervise other APT staff and student workers.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education Technology Instructional Design Learning Design and Technology or related field and three 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for education educational technology instructional design distance learning program development and management and/or online course development assistance and training; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
  2. Functional working knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of Educational and/or Instructional Technology Learning Design and Technology and/or distance education as demonstrated by a broad knowledge of evolving concepts principles terminology and methodologies.
  3. Functionalworkingknowledgeandunderstandingofapplicablefederalandstatelawsrulesregulations principles and theories and systems associated with Instructional Design and/or distance learning.
  4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
  5. Demonstratedabilitytointerpretandpresentinformationandideasclearlyandaccuratelyinwritingverbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  6. Demonstratedabilitytoestablishandmaintaineffectiveworkingrelationshipswithinternalandexternal organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
  7. Demonstratedabilitytooperateapersonalcomputerandapplywordprocessingsoftware.
  8. For supervisory work demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.

Supplemental Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experienceprovidingtechnicalsupportforalllevelsofuserexperienceknowledgeand/orskill.
  2. Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting the success of students.
  3. Ability to work a variable work schedule; and work outside normally scheduled work hours including day night weekend and/or holiday hours as needed.
  4. Duties may include traveling to other college sites islandwide to meet UH System needs.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Masters degree in Education with an emphasis in Educational and/or Instructional Technology Learning Design and Technology or other related fields.
  2. More than two years of working experience in a distance learning environment and providing support to faculty.
  3. More than five years post baccalaureate working experience in a higher education setting.
  4. Teaching experience.
  5. Experience designing in a Learning Management System especially Brightspace.
  6. Experience designing courses in a variety of content areas.
  7. Experience operating and providing support for Mac PCs and various mobile devices.
  8. Experience with designing and converting instructional materials and media to meet ADA/accessibility standards.
