Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Work closely with a team of 815 people who are responsible for enhancing evolving and supporting large highlyavailable Electricity Market Management System (MMS). The team includes power systems database software and optimization engineers. As a staff Database developer contribute and lead advanced development in MMS Application software design development testing integration and tuning to meet project and/or product commitments. Projects main deliverable is an overall customized system thats based on GE Vernovas next generation Market System a cloudbased solution that hosts multistate wholesale energy markets. End user customers are Electric Utilities Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs). These markets are key to decarbonizing the power system by ensuring reliability while allowing increasing penetration of Solar Wind and Storage technologies. Collaborate with system engineers frontend developers and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions. Convert design documents into working applications. Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP CI Software and Product Security Scalability Documentation Practices refactoring and Testing Techniques. Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project. Build features such as web services and Queries on existing tables. Understand performance parameters and assess application performance.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Position requires a Bachelors degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science Technology Engineering and Math) and 8 years of progressively responsible postBachelors degree related experience in Oracle development in an onprem or cloudbased enterprise environment.
The position also requires: 5 years experience with Oracle 12c or higher; 8 years experience programming with PL/SQL; 5 years experience with advanced PL/SQL features including advanced queues triggers types functions reference cursors pipeline functions subquery factoring clauses; 8 years experience with builtin Oracle packages such as DBMSSCHEDULER; 8 years experience with both ANSI and Oracle join syntax; 2 years experience diagnosing and remediating SQL performance issues; 5 years experience translating requirements into functional designs; 8 years experience implementing code solutions from functional designs; 5 years experience working independently as well as with a remote team; 5 years experience with tools such as GIT TFS Toad for Oracle. 100 remote position. Telecommuting is permitted. When not telecommuting must report into offices in Atlanta GA
